Set to be fully revealed at the Paris Auto Show in October, Jaguar has already begun its early marketing campaign for the upcoming XE. Why is this car so important? It's the entry-level sedan that'll go head-to-head with the BMW 3 Series. If you recall, the last time Jaguar (under Ford ownership) had an entry-level sedan, it was the bland and uncompetitive X-Type. The XE promises to be world's better. And now Jaguar has released this front-end photo of the actual production car. This isn't some XE concept.

What will also debut with the XE is Jaguar's new Ingenium family of 2.0-liter four-cylinder engines. Look closely at the image and you'll see the "S" badge, signifying this is the XE S trim. Yes, that means it's supercharged. But the question is whether it's the 2.0- or familiar 3.0-liter V6 that's under the hood of this particular car. A 2.0-liter supercharged four pot would certainly be interesting. We'll have our answer soon enough.
