"Paula" is quite a gorgeous vehicle, we just wish we could have seen more.
The Kimera Evo37 is a truly stunning vehicle, and one special buyer in Spain just received his very own bespoke model named "Paula" with chassis number 002 out of 037. Revealed to its owner in Madrid, Spain, the car has been specially built for a man who has been a supporter of the project from the very beginning: creator and founder of the Motor Sport Institute (MSI), Teo Martin.
The institute has been prolific in helping new bright minds from the University of Madrid find a path into the world of motorsport. Teo Martin, himself a rally driver in the 80s and a driver of the Lancia 037 rally car, was one of the first five people who purchased one of these Kimeras when they were simply a few sketches and a dream.
The car receives the name "Paula" as a tribute to Martin's granddaughter, and its design also pays tribute to the first Evo37 prototype with Kimera Red paint and details finished in carbon fiber. Additionally, it features anthracite, red Alcantara, and CNC-milled aluminum throughout. This car, like all the others, is completely bespoke with the owners utilizing virtual reality to help design it from the ground up.
Continuing to pull from the car's spiritual father, the vehicle features a wonderful turbocharged and supercharged 2.1-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 500 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. It sends that power to the rear wheels and is controlled with a six-speed manual transmission. Not the most powerful car out there, but with it only weighing 2,315 lbs, we imagine it'll give a Lamborghini Huracan Evo a run for its money.
With this car being given chassis number 002 after so many others have been delivered, the company isn't putting it lightly when it says this one is special.
Luca Betti, Founder & CEO of Kimera, spoke highly of the project, citing the difficulties that have popped up thanks to supply challenges but also how it has shown that "Made in Italy" still means as much now as it always has.
More importantly, he also had this little interesting tidbit to say in the press release: "After the debut in Madrid, Kimera will prepare for a new important step: news will be unveiled soon and it will surely bring joy to many enthusiasts."
Not much to go on, but it definitely gets your mind racing at the possibilities. Could the company be working on an even more powerful version of the Evo37? Perhaps it's set its sights on a new car to restomod? We certainly wouldn't be upset if some other Lancias, like the Stratos, got the same treatment even if they may already be coming back as an electric car.
