The Evo has had a good run.
The last Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution that will be built is finally here and Mitsubishi is letting the vehicle go out with a bang. Only 1,600 models of the Final Edition will be built and all of the vehicles will have a price tag of just under $38,000. In an attempt to kick off the end of the Evo, Mitsubishi is auctioning off Car No. 0001 with 100-percent of the proceeds going towards the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. At the time of writing, the vehicle is sitting on eBay at $38,900 with four bids in.
As the Evo’s last model, the Final Edition comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that’s good for 303 hp and 305 lb-ft of torque. The sedan gets a host of performance upgrades and exterior modifications that differentiate the special edition from the rest of retired lineup. While we’re extremely sad to see the Evo go, it’s heartwarming to see Mitsubishi do something good before it tarnishes the Evolution’s name by placing it on a high-performance SUV.
