Everything about the Lancia Stratos is just nuts.
The Lancia Stratos is unlike any other car ever built. It was designed for one purpose: to win rally races. But what about the road-going version that was required to be built under homologation rules? Actually, it’s not a whole lot different from its racing counterpart. Phillip Toledano grew up watching rally races in his native UK and he’s obviously done quite well for himself to be able to afford his childhood dream machine.
But the wedge-shaped, Italian-built Stratos isn’t an easy car to handle. Sure, it looks incredible and gets stares everywhere it goes, but it requires attention both behind the wheel and in its general maintenance. Clearly, it’s well worth the effort.
