And you thought only the Dubai police had a thing for supercars.
No, the Los Angeles Police Department has not just bought a Lamborghini Gallardo with tax payer dollars. A couple by the name of Nathalie and Travis Marg, owners of a fiber optics company called Light Source 1, have just donated their V10 wonder child to the LAPD. Like their Dubai and Italian counterparts, LA’s finest can now cruise the streets of the City of Angels in a Lambo. But they won’t. The car won’t even be used for emergencies, like rushing organ transplants to hospital.
Instead, the Gallardo will be used solely for charity events in support of the LAPD Air Support Team (hence the helicopter pictured alongside the car). So fear not, citizens of LA. No Gallardo rollers will be creeping up behind you anytime soon. You should still be on the lookout for helicopter speed traps, though.
