Lexus introduced RC F Fuji Speedway last year, a limited-edition model of the naturally-aspirated sports coupe, named after the famous Japanese racing circuit where it was tested. Effectively, it was a renamed version of the discontinued RC F Track Edition. Only 60 examples of the 2021 RC F Fuji Speedway were built. But if you missed out, we have good news. The special-edition sports car is returning for the 2022 model year. And this version is even rarer, as only 50 are planned for production.

Like last year's model, the 2022 Lexus RC F Fuji Speedway Edition is enhanced with a carbon fiber hood and rear spoiler to save weight. Other track-focused enhancements include Brembo carbon ceramic brakes and a titanium exhaust system. The Fuji Speedway Edition is only available in a fancy new Electric Surge Blue finish.

Under the hood, both the regular RC F and Fuji Speedway Edition are powered by a 5.0-liter V8 producing 472 horsepower and 395 lb-ft of torque, making them the most potent V8-powered Lexuses yet. The V8 engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to the rear wheels.

All 2022 Lexus RC F models also ride on redesigned 19-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires sized 255/35ZR19 at the front and 275/35ZR19 at the rear. With those upgrades mentioned above, the lighter RC F Fuji Speedway Edition will sprint from 0-60 mph in 3.96 seconds, compared to 4.2 seconds in the standard RC F.

Inside, the 2022 Lexus RC F Fuji Edition features black and blue seats with Alcantara trim. The same material is also applied to the shift knob and steering wheel, while blue carbon fiber pieces adorn the rest of the cabin. F logo scuff plates and serialized badging round off the unique interior touches. As for the tech, all RC F models are equipped with a 10.3-inch display with Android Auto and Amazon Alexa compatibility. Audiophiles can also add an available 17-speaker, 835-watt premium surround system.

In the US, the 2022 Lexus RC F and Fuji Edition will go on sale later this month, but pricing details have not been announced. For reference, the 2021 RC F starts at $65,875 and the 2021 Fuji Speedway Edition costs a whopping $97,200.
