It's a shame to some and a huge relief to others.
Back at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, then Lotus CEO Dany Bahar unveiled five new concepts that represented the future of the brand. They were a part of Bahar’s five year plan to revive Lotus and to make it a true competitor against the likes of Ferrari. But it wasn’t meant to be. Bahar was later fired and despite continued work on the production Esprit, the new owners of Lotus soon shut that project down as well. Some were thrilled with Lotus’s new direction, but brand purists weren’t happy. Today, the future of Lotus is still in doubt.
