We love a good underdog story, and that is exactly what the Lynk & Co 03+ Cyan Edition is all about. Lynk & Co has been selling cars in China for close to four years, and has been teasing us with the 03 Cyan Concept that it built in partnership with Volvo-tuning expats Cyan. Back in 2019, we got to see the race-spec version of this car that competed in the FIA World Touring Car Cup series, and the car has since gone on to take a few podium positions, which is massive for such a small Chinese-Swedish brand. Now that the group has proven what it is capable of, the company has decided to come up with a road-going version, named the 03+ Cyan Edition, and it looks cool as hell.

Back in 2018, Lynk & Co, founded by Geely, which also owns Volvo, first showed off the 03 Sedan, which it claimed would make use of Volvo-developed Compact Modular Architecture that underpins cars such as the Volvo XC40 and Polestar 2. We enjoyed that car's quirky styling, but the new car looks even better thanks to some race-inspired exterior styling features such as a set of massive fender flares, aggressive four-pipe exhaust exits and a huge rear wing. You can see that Cyan, of former Polestar fame, has been involved in this project simply by appreciating the Cyan Racing light blue paint. This means it rides on adjustable Bilstein dampers and ten-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.

The interior looks very stylish, and the dark upholstery is nicely broken up by a dash of bright green/yellow stitching as well as bright green seat belts. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, which is capable of producing 528 hp at 7,800 rpm and 372 lb-ft of torque between 4,500 and 7,000 rpm in race spec, has been tuned to produce 265 hp for the road, which sounds like a decent figure for a car this size. Unfortunately, Lynk & Co aren't selling vehicles in the US just yet, but Chinese fans can start getting excited over this new motorsport-inspired newcomer.
