Hot Rod magazine sits down with Mr. Hot Wheels himself in this exclusive look at the man who never really grew up.
Meet Larry Wood, the man who literally made Hot Wheels what they are today. Being a car guy since the age of 15, his other life passion was drawing cars, and after a stint designing for Ford in Detroit, Wood found himself working at toy-maker Mattel. While there, his creativity was allowed to flourish and some of the most famous and memorable Hot Wheels designs were the result. Upon retirement, Wood set off on a new mission customizing real cars in his own garage in the spirit of his Hot Wheels past.
It’s a life any car guy dreams of having. This new video with Mr. Wood himself comes courtesy of the crew over at Hot Rod magazine and it's a fantastic discussion that explores how one man made his passion into his career and life's work.
