Crazy power, a limited edition, and it looks amazing.
Mercedes-Benz has once again risen up the ranks of Formula 1 thanks to Nico Rosberg and the Zonda-crashing three-time world champion Lewis Hamilton. The German automaker has decided to celebrate this moment by making a limited edition A45 AMG. Like the limited edition SL63 AMGs that the automaker created in the past, the A45 World Champion Edition has the silver and green livery that is also seen on Mercedes' Formula 1 cars sponsored by Petronas.
A front splitter, front canards and a rear spoiler is also part of the package. The special edition's 19-inch wheels are painted grey and have green accents to match the livery. The interior also gets similar treatment with green and white contrast coloring on the seats and dashboard. Other packages are fit into the special edition hot hatch as standard, including the Night Package, performance seats, and Dynamic Plus vehicle dynamics control system. The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder produces 375 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque, same as the standard A45 AMG. This unchanged power is not a bad thing as it launches the hot hatch from 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds thanks to its dual-clutch gearbox and all-wheel-drive system.
Unfortunately, like the A Class itself, this limited edition A45 AMG is not sold in the United States (for now, that is). Prices and unit count are yet to be announced but we suspect it'll cost a bit more than the standard A45 AMG and not many are to be built.
