Flyin' Miata is a Colorado based company that is known for providing some awesome performance parts specifically for the Mazda Mx-5 Miata. It is also well known for figuring out how to fit powerful V8 engines to tiny Miatas. In the past, Flyin' Miata fit a Chevrolet V8 with 400 horsepower into the first generation NA chassis Miata. Now the company is planning to fit a V8 engine to the new 2016 ND chassis Miata. The 2016 Miata was only revealed about one year ago, and nothing like this has been attempted thus far.

Flyin' Miata revealed on its Facebook page that it plans to stuff a V8 into the 2016 Miata. The message stated that there is "still a long way to go before this is a real thing," but that the "initial test fit is promising." Basically, after running computer simulations to see if it would fit, the engineers decided they should build a mock-up and give it a try. Flyin' Miata did not give a timeframe when customers can expect to order the V8-powered Miata, but the company did say that it would continue to build parts for the four-cylinder Miata and all other Miata generations. We can't wait to see this creation in the flesh. What could be better than a V8-powered Miata?
