The Mini Cooper Paddy Hopkirk Edition Is Ready To Race

And pays tribute to a legend.

Mini has been hard at work delivering new and exciting models such as the Cooper S Convertible and has also been dropping some new special edition Coopers on the international market that will make US fans green with envy. One such special version is the Mini Paddy Hopkirk Edition which is now available in the UK.

These cars will be limited to only 100 examples and pay tribute to Patrick 'Paddy' Hopkirk who won the 1964 Monte Carlo rally in a Mini Cooper S number 37. The win made Hopkirk UK's most famous rally driver overnight and cemented the Mini Cooper as a racing legend.

Mini fans in the UK can now celebrate their car's rich racing heritage with this special edition in classic style. Similar to the original rally car, the Paddy Hopkirk Edition, which is based on the three-door hatch Cooper S, features the start number 37 on the driver and passenger doors. The exterior also features special touches such as 17-inch John Cooper Works light-alloy wheels in Track Spoke Black, a horizontal brace over the front grille finished in gloss black, as well as black highlights on the lower air intakes, hoodt scoop, and door handles. The famous number 37 also features on the side indicator elements, and you get a set of stickers with the inscription "Paddy Hopkirk Monte Carlo".

The racing designation 37 EJB also features on the center hood strip and is printed using 3D effect graphics. The interior of this special edition features an Alcantara John Cooper Works steering wheel. The Hopkirk's signature also features on the inside door sill on the passenger side, and Mini has thrown in some Mini LED "Paddy Hopkirk" entry sills for good measure. Standard on this car is the Mini Navigation Pack and Comfort Pack, as well as auxiliary headlights finished off in Piano Black, and you even get a keycap with the number 37.

Mini will start delivery of these special vehicles in November at a price of £27,405 ($35,135).
