Although it received a significant refresh last year, it's a fact that the Chrysler 200 was never the definition of exciting. Not that it's a bad car, there's just not all that much to it. And this is where Mopar has stepped up to the plate. The Chrysler 200 S will be making its official debut next week at the Detroit Auto Show and, according to Mopar, the new styling kit will be coming in two stages.

For Stage One, the list of modifications begins with the large chin spoiler up front along with satin chrome fog light trim and grille surround with mesh in the upper and lower grilles. The upper grille is painted gloss black and features a recessed Chrysler wing badge. Other body add-ons include new side sills, satin chrome belt molding, black chrome '200' badges and gray or hyper black 18-inch 'S' alloys. The rear end is finished off with a new trunk lid spoiler, more satin chrome trim, and a matte black lower diffuser with attached exhaust openings.

The Stage Two kit adds performance bits such as a coil-over suspension that also lowers the center of gravity, cold air intake, and cat-back exhaust. According to the official press release, this new Mopar package will be available sometime later this year. Without a doubt, it certainly gives some added flavor to the 200, but we're more excited to see the upcoming Dodge Dart's official reveal.
