The BMW 2 Series presents a heck of a tempting proposition: a classic front-engine/rear-drive coupe setup starting just over $35k. But that's for the 230i, when the one you really want is the M2., or the M2 Competition if you really want to amp up the performance potential. But this one takes it even further.

What you're looking at is a 2019 BMW M2 Competition that's been fitted with a wide array of additional M Performance parts to make it even more alluring to Bimmerphiles. Just look at those multi-spoke alloys, the big rear wing, and the multicolor stripes over white bodywork.

We don't have the full list of components fitted to this particular vehicle, currently on offer at Abu Dhabi Motors – the largest BMW dealership in the world. But the catalog is quite extensive, and it seems pretty clear that a lot of boxes were ticked on the order sheet.

The range of parts available includes everything from a carbon-fiber roof and hood to unique 19-inch wheels and includes a wide array of additional carbon-fiber components, all of which stand to make the M2 Competition look even more focused, while optimizing airflow and cutting weight in the process.

Not that the "donor" car needed much help as it was, mind you. The M2 Competition packs a 3.0-liter turbocharged straight-six good for 405 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. Channeled to the rear wheels through either a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, it'll rocket to 60 mph in four seconds flat and hustle its way around the Nürburgring in under eight minutes. And this example, at least, will look the part while doing so, too.
