Don't expect the decades-long battle between the Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang to end anytime soon. Honestly, we don't want it to. This pony car matchup is way too much fun to watch. After all, competition forces each side to make its respective car even better. And so when we got our hands on the all-new 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS Convertible, we immediately started the engine. Yes, the sound of that naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 with 455 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque is simply music to our ears. Yours too, probably.

Paired to a six-speed manual (an eight-speed automatic with paddle shifters is optional), we felt privileged to drive this modern day example of American muscle.

We've also been hearing some news lately, however, that muscle car sales are slowing down in the US. Hopefully that's not permanent because the life of the sixth-generation Camaro has just begun. It's got some Mustangs to hunt.
