The New Audi R8 Stripped Down Is Not A Pleasant Sight

Good thing this will (hopefully) never happen.

Not everyone is a fan of the new 2016 Audi R8, and that’s cool. We’ll outright say it looks better in the flesh than it does in photos. Still, we would have liked to have seen a somewhat more dramatic departure design wise from the outgoing model. What’s done is done though, and this is the R8 we’ll have for the next several years, and it’s a very good thing Audi will never offer it as a stripped down base model. Rendering artist X-Tomi Design has just released his vision of what the R8 could have looked like if Audi chose to take this disastrous course.

It looks like complete crap. Seriously. Look at the crap wheels. The crap front fascia plastic trim, and the crappy rear end. Does anyone else think this "base" R8 looks more like a kit car somewhat? We’re just glad Audi would never go this low.
