As you're probably aware by now, the new G30-generation BMW 5 Series has been revealed, and all's looking quite good so far. For sure, you can make your own minds up about whether the exterior and interior live up to your expectations, but it's a hugely important car for BMW that, based on what we know, should make it one of the top executive sedans in its class. Of course, the 5 Series that everyone wants to know about is the next M5, so here's what we think the upcoming super sedan will look like.

It goes without saying the G30 M5 will be a blisteringly fast vehicle. After all, when power outputs of 600-hp are being stated as conservative estimates, it's safe to assume this upcoming fast four-door will be one helluva super sedan in a straight line. Better still, the new M5 should be rather ace around the bends as well: we're expecting a fair few pounds to be shaved off the curb weight, which should further aid cornering prowess when you factor in the stickier rubber and the standard-fit, rear-biased all-wheel drive system that'll be fitted to the next M5. For all of this pace, though, you're likely gonna have to fork out at least $100,000.

Of course, a great performance car can sometimes be scuppered by iffy styling cues, though we're confident BMW won't muck up the exterior. Using details showcased on the spied development cars as inspiration, we expect the production-ready G30 M5 to be an appropriately muscular machine to behold, no doubt most aided by the sculpted front bumper, the blackened kidney grille and those huge fender-filling alloy wheels. With strong suggestions that the car will be launched as a 2018MY car, it's looking like we won't have to wait too long until we clap our eyes on this highly anticipated super sedan.
