America’s ultimate sports car is here.
The Chevrolet C7 Corvette Z06 is a monster, but Chevrolet has just debuted the even crazier Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition at SEMA 2015. The special edition pays homage to the racing model that has done extremely well in the world of motorsports this year. The C7.R is based off the Z06 in 3LZ trim and comes with the Z07 Performance package, which includes Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes. That’s not the end of the special touches for the C7.R either.
The special edition also comes with unique graphics, yellow-striped black wheels, yellow brake calipers, carbon hood section, a carbon ground effects package, metallic gray grilles and vents, Competition Sports seats, a black leather interior with sueded microfiber trim, along with yellow stitching. To keep it simple, the C7.R can be had in either black or yellow and in either coupe or convertible body-styles. Only 650 units will be made and only 500 of those will make it to the United States. Performance will come from the ZO6’s 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine, which is good for 650 hp and 650 lb.-ft. of torque. There’s no word on how much the special edition will cost, but it won’t be cheap.
