The New Jaguar F-Pace's Price Is Too Low To Believe

Jaguar's first SUV might already be the best value on the market

When Jaguar first said that it wanted to build an SUV, we thought, "Isn't that what Land Rover is for?" However, when the F-Pace was unveiled, we absolutely fell in love with it. Your opinion may differ, but we think the F-Pace may potentially be the best looking SUV ever built. Now we finally know what the F-Pace will cost in the US and our love just got even stronger. Jag's SUV will start at $40,990 for the base 2.0-liter diesel four-cylinder. This engine produces 180 horsepower and 318 lb-ft of torque. However, we doubt that too many Americans will buy it.

Diesel doesn't sell very well in the US, so we bet that most people will flock to the 35t which comes with a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 packing 340 horsepower. This engine does cost a little more ($42,390), but that is far less expensive than the cheapest Porsche Macan which comes with a 2.0-liter 252-horsepower engine for $47,500. The top spec F-Pace comes with 380 horsepower but carries a huge price premium at $56,700. The middle trim 35t seems like the best value. It is not the cheapest luxury SUV on the market, the Mercedes GLC undercuts it at $38,950, but the German only has 241 horsepower. The F-Pace certainly looks like a great SUV option when it comes to performance per dollar.
