One of the most iconic movie cars of all time, the Batmobile has had several redesigns since it debuted in the original Batman TV series in the 1960s. This year, the caped crusader's car is making its cinematic comeback in the upcoming Justice League film, effectively DC's answer to Marvel's 'The Avengers' series. To promote the movie, the new Batmobile was showcased to the public for the first time at this year's San Diego Comic Con – and it looks absolutely badass.

The last time we saw the Batmobile in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, it featured in a chase sequence where it destroyed a fleet of pursuing Dodge Challengers, only for it to get unceremoniously trashed by Superman. It's since been repaired by Batman and was briefly shown in the first Justice League trailer earlier this year.

Fully loaded with an arsenal criminal-killing weapons, its appearance in Batman V Superman was criticized since Batman doesn't usually resort to killing. The solution? Add more guns. The beefed-up Batmobile has had its passenger seat removed to make way for another canon to sit alongside the arsenal of missile launchers, machine guns and "stealth and active protective systems." The result is easily the most menacing Batmobile yet that makes the militarized version we saw in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy look tame. According to Warner Bros, the upgraded Justice League Batmobile measures 20 feet long, weighs over 8,500 pounds and has a top speed of 205 mph.

You can see the Batmobile in action in the new extended Justice League trailer where it makes a brief appearance. Starring Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, and Ben Affleck, The Justice League will be released in cinemas November 17th.
