The New Roush F-250 Is One Mean-Looking Truck

Tuning / Comments

Jacked and ready to attack.

Roush Performance is best known for its long standing tradition of offering bolt on performance options for Ford Mustangs. However, in recent years the company has increasingly been turning its attention to pickup trucks. Already the company offers a multitude of options for your Ford F-150, including the Roush F-150, Roush F-150 SC, Roush Nitemare, and Roush Raptor. Well now, there's an option for F-250 owners as well.

On the performance front, only F-250s equipped with Ford's 6.7-liter turbocharged diesel V8 engine are eligible for Roush's new DPF-Back Exhaust System. According to the company, the exhaust will maintain and enhance the F250's factory spec towing and payload capabilities. However, both gasoline and diesel F-250s can benefit from the Roush/Fox 2.0 Performance Series suspension system with a 1.5-inch leveling kit, and Roush 20-inch wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich KO2 325/60R20 tires. The wheels even include interchangeable faceplates for different accent colors.

The rest of what Roush has done is simply making the F-250 cosmetically more aggressive and sporty. On the exterior, the base package includes custom Roush-made parts like a new front grille, front bumper cover, body color-matched fender flares, hood and tailgate graphics, a windshield banner, and other, smaller, body graphics.Of course, there's also the Roush "R" hitch cover. Inside the cab, there will be a Roush serialized console badge, Roush embroidered headrests, and Roush molded WeatherTech floor liners.

"Roush's entry into the Super Duty market is a game-changer for drivers who crave an aggressive, no-compromise look," said Taylor Bloor, vice president of global sales for Roush Performance. "The 2018 Roush Super Duty F-250 looks incredibly intimidating with an off-road stance and isn't afraid to get dirty. It's reliable, functional, and just plain cool." The Roush F-250 Super Duty clocks in at $13,880 on top of whatever it costs you to get the donor Super Duty from your local Ford Store. At least it comes covered by a three-year/36,000-mile warranty.
