Should feature the sedan's 6.0-liter V-12 powerplant.
Just weeks after launching its new S63 AMG Coupe, Mercedes-Benz seems set to unveil its S65 variant of the new S Class Coupe very soon. According to German media, the 65 should debut as early as July, featuring the same engine as the range-topping S65 AMG sedan – the 6.0-liter V-12 engine which makes 630 horsepower and 737 lb-ft of torque in the 4-door flagship. With those numbers, the newest AMG model should put the yet-unsold S63 to shame.
The S63 coupe is only set for its world debut at the upcoming New York Auto Show, where Mercedes will present the car with a V-8 engine that produces 577hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. While this model is reported to make the 0-62mph sprint in 3.9-seconds, the S65 AMG sedan makes the same run in 4.2-seconds. Thus, we expect the coupe version to deliver swifter times than both those models.
