As the production cycle comes to an end for the current 5 Series, we'll be seeing new M5. The latest model should take the car to a whole new level. Set to be revealed at the Frankfurt, the biggest change will be the engine. Normally having a V10 under the hood, the latest model will have a supercharged V8. Don't think for a moment the car will underperform Quite the opposite, in fact. Performance numbers are supposedly up in every category.
The reason for the change in engine displacements has to do with international fuel economy regulations to reduce C02 and fuel consumption. Word is that the new M5's V8 will cut emissions by 20% over the previous model.
