Who knew black was such a rare color?
Very fewvehicles in the world look good in black, but the 2005 Maserati MC12 is asupercar that looks incredible in any color. It just so happens that black fitsthe MC12 extremely well and is the vehicle’s rarest color. Of the 50 MC12s produced, there’s only one that was finished in Metallic Black and it just sold for $1.57million at Mecum Auctions. All of the other MC12s were finished in pearl whitewith bright blue accents, which makes this all black beauty extremely rare. Unbelievably, other MC12s are going for much more.
To complementthe gloss black exterior color, the MC12 has a set of silver 7-spoke wheelswith red center locks on one side and blue center locks on the other. Onthe inside this model has dark blue leather throughout. All of theroad-going MC12s had the same 6.5-liter V12 from the Ferrari Enzo de-tuned to produce a whopping 620 hp that propelled the supercar to 62 mph in 3.8 seconds. To behonest, we're surprised this MC12 only brought in $1.57 million. Mecum Auctions expected the supercar to bring in $1.8 million on the low end and $2 million at the top end. So did this buyer get a heck of a deal with the only black MC12 in the world?
