The Rare L88 C2 Corvette Shows Off Why It’s So Valuable

Arguably the greatest factory Corvette ever built.

It was in 1967 that Chevrolet began offering the L88 engine for the Corvette. Essentially a race engine, the 427 had an aluminum head, a more aggressive cam, 12.5:1 compression (!) and needed 103-octain fuel. It officially produced 430 horsepower, but the number was actually about 550. Only a little over 200 were ever built, so the car in this video is extremely rare and valuable, which is why it is also completely stock.

It runs an effortless 11-second quarter mile with no drama at all. What a shame there aren’t more of them.
