BMW is going to unveil a re-imagined 2002 Hommage Concept at the upcoming Quail car show during Pebble Beach car week. The original concept (which we thought was totally epic) was first shown to the public during the Concorso d'Eleganza at Villa d'Este back in May of this year. Now, it appears as though the purveyors of the Ultimate Driving Machine will use the extremely exclusive and expensive Quail event to showcase a brand new version according to a report from BMW Blog.

The new version will reportedly feature an entirely new paint job as well as a handful of minor changes that will help it stand out from the original Hommage concept. The idea of releasing the same concept twice is nothing new to BMW. In fact, it did the same thing with the 3.0 CSL Hommage concept. The 3.0 concept was first released at Villa d'Este (just like the 2002) before receiving a brand new coat of paint and being sent off to the Pebble Beach car show. Sound familiar? The current iteration of the 2002 Hommage features a two-tone paint scheme called Space Race Metal that has a matte finish above the belt line and gloss finish below it. Depending on the light, the car can appear to change colors from blue to grey and back again.

We don't expect any huge changes for the debut of the car at Pebble Beach. Think of the re-release of the 2002 as more of a debut for the North American market, considering the first release occurred in Europe. We will bring you photos of the revised 2002 Hommage the moment they become available.
