Two of the most anticipated car movies of 2021 are undoubtedly 'Fast & Furious 9' and the upcoming James Bond film 'No Time to Die.' Both films were delayed until next year as movie theaters were forced to close during the global pandemic, but they should be worth the wait for fans of cinematic car chases.

Another movie that should be on every gearhead's radar is 'Red Notice'. Starring Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Gal Gadot, and Ryan Reynolds, the film was originally intended for theatrical release but will stream on Netflix next year instead. No trailer has been released yet, but The Rock has confirmed the Porsche Taycan will star in an action-packed car chase scene.

With a budget of nearly $188 million, 'Red Notice' will be one of the most expensive Netflix films ever made. We'll have to wait and see how it compares to the opening car chase in the Netflix film '6 Underground' directed by Michael Bay, which featured an Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio skidding through the streets of Florence.

Filming for 'Red Notice' resumed in September, but everything didn't go according to plan. In a social media post on Instagram, The Rock recalls the embarrassing moment he discovered he couldn't physically fit into the Porsche Taycan. "Aaaaand guess who's too big to fit in yet another sports car and now we have to change the entire shot sequence around," The Rock wrote.

He added that the Porsche Taycan was used for an "insane chase sequence" that took months of planning. After buying the electric sports car and shipping it to the US to rehearse the stunt driving, The Rock got stuck inside because "his back is a bit too wide."

Luckily, the crew saw the funny side of this setback and managed to find "creative ways" to get the shot they needed. Considering he is 6 foot 5 inches tall, this isn't the first time the muscular movie star has struggled to fit inside a low-slung supercar and it almost certainly won't be the last.
