Something very special is happening for BMW next year: its 100th anniversary. Obviously it's going to want to celebrate in a number of ways, such as the recent tease of an upcoming concept that'll pay tribute to the legendary 1970s era E9 3.0 CSL. We'll know all about that car in just a couple of days when it debuts at Villa d'Este, but right now we're hearing an update about the rumored M4 GTS production car. Not so long ago we told you that it was possible BMW would name it the M4 CSL, partially as a tribute to the also legendary E46 M3 CSL.

N/A

That may not be the case after all, according to a new rumor from the crew over at BMW Blog. According to its source, the internal ordering system of US BMW dealerships is already listing a 2016 BMW M4 GTS that's set to begin production next March. No pricing or any other specs were available. What we do know is that this ultimate M4 will have the same water injection system from the M4 MotoGP Safety Car shown at Geneva earlier this year. It'll also likely feature various lightweight elements and aerodynamic components as well as standard carbon ceramic brakes and a dual-clutch gearbox. We'll bring you more details once we have them.
