Every year just after the completion of its Best Driver's Car competition, Motor Trend holds something of a race with the contestants. Let's call it a drag race, an epic showdown among some of the world's most exotic and best-handling sports cars launched for the current model year. This year's participants include the Alfa Romeo 4C, BMW i8 and M4, Chevy Camaro Z/28, Jaguar F-Type R Coupe, and the Subaru WRX STI, to name just a few.

As we await the announcement as to which one wins the best driver's car prize, check out the entire flock as it gathers at an abandoned airstrip at El Toro Marine Base in California to determine which is the fastest. A drag race this epic only happens once a year and you're about to see it. Enjoy.
