The 2021 Kia Stinger showed its face recently, adding a couple of styling tweaks and more powerful engines to the Korean marque's already talented sports sedan. With global markets gearing up for the launch of the facelifted Stinger later this year, US customers have a lot to get excited about as CarsDirect has reported some big discounts for the sedan, following news of some attractive discounts on the new Kia K5, too.

The news is especially promising for those interested in leasing the Stinger, with savings of up to $7,700. That applies to the top-spec GT2 version for a 24-month lease. There are many other savings to be had in the range, though.

If opting for the 36-month lease, the base derivative - with a 2.0-liter turbo engine - is being offered with a minimum of $4,900 in factory lease cash. For the same lease duration, the 3.3-liter V6 qualifies for up to $5,700.

Those are great deals, but the 24-month lease option is where the biggest savings are to be found, with a discount of $6,000 for the base model. Both lease periods for the 2.0L carry the same $299 monthly outlay and an initial signing fee of $3,999, assuming that mileage works out to 10,000 miles per year. For customers wanting to purchase a 2021 Kia Stinger, the discounts aren't quite as appealing. There is, however, the option of either $1,000 cash or 0.9 percent financing over a period of 66 months.

For 72- and 84-month terms, those choices work out to 1.9 and 3.9 percent, respectively. Over 66 months on a $35,000 Stinger, going for the rebate would amount to interest costs of about $4,959 at $590 per month, based on a rate of 5%. However, interest costs would drop to only $887 at 0.9% APR with a monthly cost of $544.

In certain cases, the best value is to be found in leasing the Stinger to take advantage of those big discounts, before purchasing it later. For the 2020 Stinger, Labor Day offers include 0% APR for 66 months or $3,000 if considering the V6-engined model, dropping to $2,000 for the 2.0T. The offers are valid until September 8.
