And get this: 2019 and 2020 models are on sale.
We already know GMC will launch a refreshed Sierra 1500 for the 2021 model year and, chances are, it'll feature an independent rear suspension, just like that of its corporate cousin, the Chevrolet Silverado 1500. This refresh should make both the Silverado and Sierra up to date in order to better compete with the Ford F-150 and Ram 1500. The former is expected to be completely redesigned in the near future as well. Given all that, it seems GMC is already gearing up somewhat to clear out not only the remaining 2019 Sierra 1500s but also the nearly identical 2020 model.
This month, both the 2019 and 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 are on sale with some attractive discounts by up to $9,000 and $8,500, respectively. However, both of those discounts apply to the 2.7-liter four-cylinder variants only. Both are also Crew Cabs.
There's a second financing offer of 0 percent APR for 72 months plus $500 cash back that applies to both model year trucks as well, only this time it's for Double Cab and Crew Cab models. There's also an extra $750 in GM loyalty cash, though buyers must be a current owner or lessee of a 2006 model year or newer GM vehicle for at least the past 30 days. If you're only considering a 2020 Sierra, then there are also two other attractive discounts. The first is for a 2020 Sierra 1500 Double Cab 2WD SLE with up to $4,500 cash back, and the second is a $6,000 cash back offer for a 2020 Sierra 1500 Crew Cab Denali. The $750 loyalty bonus applies to both, assuming one qualifies.
The 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Crew Cab Short Box normally carries an MSRP of $56,295, but once the discount is factored, again up to $6,750, then the price drops to $49,545. Not bad at all for a luxury pickup truck.
Those who are interested in any of the above offers should note they're good through March 2, 2020.
