There’s A Huge Ferrari Portofino Tour Happening In Europe Right Now

Road Trip

20 Ferrari Portofinos take part in this kick off tour. Invited customers only.

The Ferrari California T is gone, replaced by the stunning new Portofino, the so-called “entry-level” Ferrari few saw coming when it debuted last September at Frankfurt. Having seen it in the flesh for ourselves, we can confidently say it is stunning, and really does resemble a miniature 812 Superfast. Put it like this: few, if any, will miss its predecessor. With its auto show circuit debut now complete, it’s time for the new Portofino to hit the market, and Ferrari is celebrating this in a big way.

The Italian supercar company is sending a convoy of 20 Portofinos on a 60-city European kick off tour. The event just got underway and, quite appropriately, began in the beautiful Ligurian coastal region in Italy, which also gave the car its name. Liguria also served as host for the Portofino’s original premiere for an exclusive, invite-only, Ferrari client list. It also that very group of clients the chance to take part in this kick off tour. Ferrari says there will be three alternating itineraries that will crisscross various terrains, such as the luscious rolling hills of Tuscany to the slopes of the Alps, the Cote d’Azur, the Scandinavian Peninsula, Stockholm Bay, and the Port of Belfast.

Good things happen to you when you’re a loyal Ferrari client. Ferrari chose these particular routes because they provide some of the best GT driving experiences on the planet. With a twin-turbo 3.9-liter V8 with 591 hp and 561 lb-ft of torque under the hood, the Ferrari Portofino clocks 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds, 0-100 in 6.8 seconds, and reaches a claimed top speed of 199 mph. And, of course, it features that nifty folding hard top that provides the best of both worlds for those who enjoy some top down action when the road calls for it. Pricing begins at around $215,000.
