Is there anything about this car that isn't good?
You could go and spend (and borrow) a fair amount of money to buy a great sports car. Or, you could buy something totally affordable, with money left over, and still have the biggest grin on your face while healing and toeing. It’s called the Mazda MX-5 Miata, and the Japanese automaker has just released official US pricing for the completely redesigned 2016 model. For just $25,735, including destination, you can get a base MX-5 powered by a 2.0-liter four banger with an output of 155 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque, and mated to a six-speed manual.
Total curb weight for a manual MX-5? 2,332 lbs. Other standard features include LED headlights, USB audio input, Bluetooth, a leather-wrapped shift knob and power door locks. A total of three trim lines will be offered: Sport, Club, and Grand Touring. Sport is the base model, the purest and most lightweight trim. Club is for those who want a more aggressive appearance and driving experience, while Grand Touring offers up premium amenities for added comfort. Just to briefly compare here, the MX-5’s closest competitor, the Scion FR-S, carries a base price of $25,670.
