The McLaren 600LT represents the automaker's range-topping Sports Series, which has significantly more downforce and power than the 570S it's based on. Thanks to its enhanced 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, the 600LT produces a hefty 592 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque.

A lightweight carbon fiber monocoque chassis and new carbon fiber bodywork also make the 600LT 211.6 pounds lighter than the 570S, bringing the dry weight down to just 2,749.2 pounds. With these enhancements, the 600LT will sprint to 62 mph in just 2.8 seconds and top out at 204 mph.

It's also considerably more expensive than the 570S, with a starting price of $240,000. Every example has also already sold out. Happily, however, there is now an alternative option. McLaren is now offering a new High Downforce Kit for the 570S that improves the car's handling and stability at high speed for those who regularly take the Sports Series to the track.

A new massive carbon fiber fixed rear wing provides an additional 165 pounds of additional downforce at high speed, resulting in greater stability. The new main components are underbody guide vanes located towards the front of the car that help reduce drag by channeling high-pressure air away from the rear diffuser to exit below the doors. According to engineers, this helps create a low-pressure area at the front of the car to balance out the extra downforce created by the rear wing.

The new downforce-enhancing parts are finished in gloss carbon fiber and are offered for the 570S and 570S Spider, but not the 570GT since the car's rear deck features a different design. Created by McLaren's Special Operations department, the gloss carbon fiber wing features MSO branding on each end plate, with metal components finished in a subtle Palladium Grey. A central brake light is also integrated into the wing.

Pricing and availability McLaren's High Downforce Kit is only available on request. The McLaren 570S starts at $191,000 in the US.
