Before the Aventador J there was the Concept S.
Lamborghini has a thing for building cars that look a lot like The Mach 5 from "Speed Racer." Think back a few years ago to the Aventador J, aka the one-off supercar go-kart that fetched a whopping $2.74 million. Well before the J there was the S, as in the Concept S. Yes, this is a roofless Gallardo. It was built in 2005 as a show model (as in no go) but became fully functional and street legal in 2006. The idea was to gauge consumer interest in such a model.
There apparently wasn’t much interest in the concept as this was the only one ever made. It packs a 5.0-liter V10 good for 500 horsepower, although you might feel like there’s a bigger engine underneath what with the no roof and all. There’s only 111 miles on the odometer and most of that came from testing and running around Concours d’Elegance events. Like all good things in life the Concept S is for sale, with RM Sotheby’s putting it under the hammer. We’ll update you on its exact worth when it’s sold, but for now you can leave your best guess in the comments.
