The Dodge Durango is one of America's coolest SUVs, hands-down. Sharing a unibody platform with the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the third-generation Durango has been around since 2011 though it's received a few updates since then and remains on sale today. And speaking of which, there happens to be a discount right now on the 2020 Dodge Durango R/T RWD and R/T AWD that's better than any other Durango variant.

For the rest of this month until February 3, you can get up to $3,750 off on the 2020 Durango R/T. The RWD version begins at $43,995 and the AWD at $46,595. Although the Durango R/T lacks the SRT's 6.4-liter Hemi V8 with 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, it still has serious power of its own by way of a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 with 360 hp and 391 lb-ft. An eight-speed automatic sends power to the rear or all four wheels.

Factor in the discount and you could buy a new Durango R/T for as little as $40,245 right now. But what if you really desire the Durango SRT's 475 hp? Is there an offer this month? Conveniently so, there is.

The Dodge Durango SRT currently has a $3,500 cash allowance, bringing down its $62,995 MSRP to $59,495. In other words, another 115 hp and 79 lb-ft is a nearly $20k premium when stepping up from the R/T to SRT. Other Durango trims come powered by the 3.6-liter V6 with 290 hp and 258 lb-ft. You'll definitely notice the extra 100 hp difference separating the three engines.

The best bang for your buck deal, however, seems to be the Durango R/T with its V8 power and a choice between RWD and AWD; the SRT is AWD only.

Other standard Durango R/T features include a maximum towing capacity of 7,200 pounds, 20-inch wheels, seven-passenger seating (three rows), and an 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment screen and nav system. It's a lot of SUV and power for the money. There are, of course, a few offer restrictions. Financing must be done through Chrysler Capital and one must take delivery by February 3.
