And it looks awesome.
The bad news is that Ford has yet to launch a hardcore off-road Ranger Raptor for the North American market. You currently have to go overseas to Europe or Australia to buy one. Ford has yet to officially announce a Ranger Raptor for these parts but some aftermarket tuners are taking advantage of the segment the Blue Oval is currently lacking.
PaxPower has just revealed its 2019 SEMA offering, a Ford Ranger that begins with the already formidable Lariat FX4 trim, and then even more awesome modifications begin. The American tuner went to the extreme on this one, importing OEM body panels from Europe to create these best possible Ranger Raptor lookalike. Although the cab on the stock and modified truck are the same, the latter's body had to be completely altered, including a new front clip and rebuilt bed. The only front and rear section original parts remaining are the LED headlights.
And because SEMA builds require a touch of craziness, PaxPower repainted the truck in Blue Jean Metallic, a color currently not offered by Ford for any Rangers models anywhere on the planet. Mechanically, the stock suspension was ripped out and replaced with a performance suspension courtesy of BajaKits. This prerunner style setup uses longer and stronger upper and lower control arms, and widens the track by 5 inches. Other additions include King 2.5" racing shocks, custom fabricated Addictive Desert Designs bumpers, Rigid pro-level lighting, Toyo R/T tires, and even custom-painted Icon 17-inch wheels.
Precise engine specs weren't announced, but PaxPower admits it increased output to about 350 horsepower, which will make the truck even faster than the diesel-powered Ranger Raptor.
Pricing also hasn't been completely locked down, but the tuner estimates complete trucks will start at around $65,000, about the same price as an F-150 Raptor. Expensive? Yes, but considering Ford doesn't offer America a Ranger Raptor and not everyone is game for the larger F-150 Raptor, this could be exactly what some have been looking for.
