For those that think the C63 is too tame.
AMG chief Tobias Moers disappointed recently when he said that there's no time to make the C63 Black Edition. It hasn't been ruled out completely, but with Mercedes' tuning division more concerned with slapping AMG badges on every single model, there's a chance that if you want a hardcore C63 you'll have to find a reputable tuner to do the business on the stock model. Mercifully, Mercedes-Benz tuning outfit Chrometec has just unveiled its latest aftermarket program based on the C63 AMG.
Custom built and unique to the tuning house, Chrometec added a slew of carbon-fiber aerodynamic body parts for the potent C-Class, including a front grille, front lip spoiler and spoiler flaps, side mirror caps, rear diffuser and rear lip spoiler. Shown in high-gloss carbon, the add-ons can also be finished in gloss black while any color is available upon request. A set of 20-inch concave alloys are offset 5 cm at the front and 8 cm at the rear for a distinctive stance, while a height-adjustable coilover suspension enhances the driving dynamics.
A remapped ECU is also on offer that ups output of the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 to a monstrous 603 horsepower, and a new rear exhaust, finished in chrome or black, with remote controlled valves ensures owners can enjoy the sound of their new investment. Available individually, the total cost of all these new additions comes to 15,338 Euros.
