This 700-Mile C6 Corvette Z06 Was Left Abandoned In A Storage Unit

It could be the lowest mileage C6 Corvette Z06 in the world.

If we owned a high-performance sports car like a Chevrolet Corvette, we would want to play with it as often as possible. We've all rediscovered a possession we forgot about like a pair of shoes, but forgetting you own a Corvette? That's something else entirely. Unfortunately, that's what happened to this poor neglected 2009 C6 Corvette Z06, which was left abandoned in a storage unit. We don't know how long it was left there, but the fact it's only clocked up 720 miles in its nearly ten-year lifetime suggests it's been locked away for a long time.

It's been barely driven since it was new, which is just pure car cruelty. It's also quite possibly the lowest mileage Z06 Corvette in the country. Happily, it now has a new owner, as the abandoned Corvette recently sold on eBay for just over $55,000. According to the eBay listing, the abandoned Corvette was bought by an automotive shop based in Georgia. Bizarrely, it was never even registered and is still riding on original tires. When it was discovered, it was covered in dust and scratches but has since been cleaned up. However, the bumper has a small crack from the transport company loading it up. All the seller has done to the car is change the fluids.

And no, the car wasn't stolen in case you were wondering, as the seller checked the VIN. It may not be in pristine condition, but it should need significantly less restoration work than your typical vintage car barn find. At the time, this was a top-of-the-range Corvette, so why someone chose to leave it in storage remains a mystery. Under the hood is a 7.0-liter V8 engine that produces 505 horsepower, paired with an increasingly rare manual transmission. Let's hope whoever now owns it will cherish it and unleash its untapped potential.
