This Audi RS6 Avant Has More Power Than A Bugatti Veyron

Tuning / 17 Comments

This is an absurd amount of power for a wagon, but we love it.

The Audi RS6 Avant is already the high-performance wagon of our dreams. While we used to be envious that it was only sold in Europe, the Audi RS6 Avant is finally coming to America with a starting price of $109,000. In stock form, the Audi RS6 Avant is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 producing 591 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque.

Already, the Audi RS6 Avant has attracted the attention of aftermarket tuners. Both Mansory and ABT Sportsline have managed to extract over 700 horsepower from Audi's twin-turbo V8. These are impressive efforts, but aftermarket tuner Wheelsandmore has taken the RS6 Avant to a new extreme.

Dubbed the 'TenTension', the company's new tuning package for the Audi RS6 Avant increases the output to an absurd 1,010 hp and 922 lb-ft of torque in its range-topping Stage V kit.

Yes, you read that right: this is a practical family wagon with more than 1,000 horsepower on tap. That's more power than a Bugatti Veyron. Although if that's too much power for you to cope with, the tuner also offers four other performance packages with outputs ranging from 600 hp to 965 hp. The colossal power increase was achieved thanks to upgraded turbochargers, a modified air intake and manifold, new air filter kit, larger turbine shafts and compressor units, catless downpipes, and tweaked ECU software, among other upgrades.

Regardless of the tuning kit installed, Wheelsandmore's modified Audi RS6 Avant will reach a top speed of 205 mph, up from 190 mph in the stock version with the Dynamic Package Plus installed. Wheelsandmore hasn't quoted a 0-62 mph time, but the 1,010-hp super wagon should be substantially quicker than the stock version, which will accelerate to 62 mph from a standstill in 3.6 seconds.

In addition, Wheelsandmore also offers 22-inch wheels, a fully adjustable coilover suspension, and a more aggressive-sounding exhaust system for the performance wagon.

All told, the tuner is charging €41,933, or approximately $45,476 at the current exchange rates, to install the most powerful Stage V kit. Of course, this is on top of the RS6 Avant's $109,000 base price.
