Our nation has a love affair with pickup trucks, especially fast pickup trucks, but there is one country that could argue that they love them even more: Australia. It turns out that this small island nation loves a fast truck, a good burnout, and low quarter-mile times just as much as we do, and Australians are willing to pay big money for the privilege.

A rare 2017 HSV GTSR Maloo W1 has recently gone up for auction through Lloyds Online and is currently bidding at over AU$715,000 ( $556,000). That's enough money to buy yourself nearly nine brand new Chevrolet Corvettes.

So what makes this pickup so special? Unlike other fast pickup trucks, HSV released only 275 GTSR W1 cars, but to make things even better, only four Maloo W1 examples were ever built. These four were apparently destined for HSV's inner circle. The work on these exclusive trucks was carried out by Walkinshaw Performance which took standard GTSR Maloo vehicles and fitted them with the special W1 parts. This means that under the hood you'll find a 6.2-liter supercharged LS9 V8 producing 636 horsepower and 601 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed Tremec manual transmission.

The car rides on a set of SupaShock shock absorbers, and speed is scrubbed off by forged six-piston AP Racing monoblock brake calipers with 410-mm front rotors. The exterior of this mad ute features a 'Light My Fire' orange paint job and a set of 20-inch SV Panorama forged alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R track tires.

The interior boasts eight-way electrically adjustable HSV Podium front seats and an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel. This car has covered only 423 miles since new, and interested parties have 21 days left to make an offer. Someone, please bring it Stateside.
