If a brand new Porsche 911 GT3 RS just isn't extreme enough for you, there aren't many places left to turn.

Fortunately, there are a few machines left that might scratch your itch, including the Briggs Automotive Company (BAC) Mono R. The Mono R makes do with just 2.5 liters of displacement, in the form of a Mountune-prepared four-cylinder engine producing 332 horsepower, but at just 1,256 pounds, the car yields an insane power-to-weight ratio of 582 hp-per-ton. With so much power and so little weight, it will hit 60 mph in just 2.7 seconds.

That makes it a pretty special care already, but BAC has just made it more special still, delivering an example to a European customer with an outrageous livery inspired by the '90s video game series Wipeout.

For those who never played Wipeout on the original PlayStation, the game is set in 2052, with racers competing in the fictitious F3600 anti-gravity racing league. The game offered several different tracks and weapons to both stall and destroy other cars. BAC wanted to pay homage to Wipeout by creating a livery based on the game's most recognizable team, FEISAR - the "Federal European Industrial Science and Research" team - and the first Mono R delivered in Europe wears a livery with FEISAR's distinctive blue, yellow, and white color scheme.

"When playing Wipeout on the PlayStation, I often dreamt of one day being able to fly around different race tracks for real in my own FEISAR ship," the customer says. "It's not quite anti-gravity racing… but the frankly outrageous Mono R gives me the exact same sensation. It's a true feat of engineering, technology, and design - and with the way it looks, it certainly wouldn't be out of place in any Wipeout game!"

Every Mono that leaves the factory in Liverpool is a one-of-a-kind car, so when the first European Mono R owner wanted his car to feature a Wipeout-inspired theme, the BAC design team was happy to take up the challenge. Though you can't drive a Mono in Wipeout, the automaker has featured in other PlayStation games, including Grid, Need For Speed, Project Cars, and DRIVECLUB. This Wipeout Mono R is one of only 30 cars that will be delivered worldwide before the next-generation Mono enters production.
