The hardcore Ranger Raptor has been on sale in Australia and Europe since last year, but Ford is stubbornly refusing to bring it to the US. There have been rumors the Ranger Raptor will eventually arrive in America, but Ford insists it was designed in markets where the F-150 Raptor isn't available. If you really want to own Ranger Raptor in the US, this dealer in Kansas is willing to build you a custom Ranger with a host of Raptor-style goodies.
As originally reported by MuscleCarsAndTrucks, Kansas-based dealer Long McArthur Ford calls its new package the 'Ford Ranger Baja'. The dealer also sells custom packages for the Mustang and F-150. Technically, it may not be a Ranger Raptor, but it's arguably even better. Under the hood, the Ranger Baja uses the same 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine as the standard model that produces 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. The Ford Ranger Raptor sold in Australia and Europe, on the other hand, has a less powerful 2.0-liter diesel engine with 210 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque.
The custom truck is based on the Ranger XLT SuperCrew 4x4 with the 302A equipment group and the FX4 off-road package. To improve the truck's off-roading capabilities, the Baja has a Pro-Comp two-inch front suspension lift, a rear shock upgrade, 18-inch Fuel Tactic off-road wheels, 33-inch Toyo all-terrain tires, and a Ford Performance off-road kit.
As for visual upgrades, the dealer has fitted a custom grille with Ford lettering to fool people into thinking it's a Ranger Raptor, along with painted fender flares, an Addictive Desert Design chase rack, Ford OEM Black running boards, and a Baja black exhaust tip. "Ranger Baja" hood and bedside graphics and a blacked-out tailgate panel also distinguish the Ranger Baja from the standard truck. If you want one, Long Arthur currently has a Ranger Baja for sale for $41,995 including an $8,000 dealer discount or the Baja package can be purchased separately for $10,095.
