SUVs are taking over our streets. Every week or two, it seems that a new variant is being launched or teased, and with the huge popularity of these vehicles at the moment, you can't really blame manufacturers for making the most of it. Alas, the majority of new SUVs aren't any good off-road, but there are still some enthusiasts that use the full capabilities of their trucks. This is why things like the Ford Ranger Raptor and Toyota Hilux Mako exist, but what if you want even more off-road ability? This heavily modified Chevrolet Colorado is the answer, and you could own it.

Sure, there's the Colorado ZR2, but this auction listing makes the ZR2 look totally tame. It started out life as a regular LT model, despite what that Z71 badge on the front grille may say. It's powered by a 6.8-liter Duramax engine and features BDS suspension with five-inch Fox coilovers, front and rear ZR2 Eaton e-lockers, upgraded Nitro gear and axle 4.56 gears, 37-inch Falken Wildpeak M/T tires, and a Baja Kits pre-runner kit with long-travel control arms. You'll also find the usual skid plates that should always accompany an off-road truck, along with cut fenders to accommodate those massive tires.

A three-inch exhaust is fitted too, along with an LED light bar on a roof rack, a liquid storage container, a bed slide, a fridge, a generator, and an air compressor. The interior, however, is completely standard besides a pair of custom embroidered headrests up front. It's quite an impressive package and looks like the perfect way to get out of the city and have some fun on the trails. The vehicle is going on auction from October 15 to 17 at Mecum Auctions and is expected to be a pretty popular listing. As to what it will sell for, we'll have to wait and see as no reserve has been set.
