If airbags and crumple zones don't fill you with a sense of security, there are companies that specialize in taking protection to the next level. AddArmor sells armored versions of luxury vehicles, offering near unbreachable security for anyone that needs it. AddArmor started with performance luxury cars like the Audi RS7 before switching to large luxury SUVs like the Cadillac Escalade and XT6. The company even offers an armored Mercedes Sprinter van.

AddArmor could have continued to roll out new models but instead, the firm is now giving customers a much wider choice with the announcement of a new Mobile Saferoom Armoring package. For just $28,000, pretty much any vehicle you can imagine is now available with armoring.

"We're all fugitives from the law of averages such as earthquakes, wildfires, gas leaks, terrorist attacks, active shooters, riots, and much more. Ask yourself: Where are you most likely to be when a crisis unfolds? Where are your family, friends, and colleagues most likely to be, and how will you contact them if the cell grid goes down," asks AddArmor CEO and Special Operations Veteran Pete Blaber.

The Mobile Saferoom Armoring package was designed by Elite Special Forces using light-weight ballistic panels made of ultra-light synthetic laminate materials, which are then mounted inside each door and hatch. AddArmor's light-weight materials improve performance and fuel economy while providing ten times more strength than ballistic steel.

For further protection, all of the windows and the windshield are replaced with shatterproof ballistic glass, which is bullet-resistant and mixed with polycarbonate for an extra layer of protection. The Mobile Safe Room and anti-intrusion protection packages start as low as $28,000, but AddArmor has plenty of other additions that transform your car from a practical bunker to a luxury palace.

If you choose a vehicle that is large enough, AddArmor can install entertainment systems, media rooms, recliners, gun storage, and even an escape hatch. If we were picking a vehicle for armoring, we'd want something large that's also comfortable and stealthy. The latest 2021 Cadillac Escalade would be a perfect starting vehicle; it's incredibly comfortable and has enough space to cram in a ton of add-ons.
