When it comes to Japanese hot hatches, few do it better than the Honda Civic Type R. This front-wheel-drive turbocharged hot hatch might be a tad expensive, but it handles like no other, and is pretty quick in a straight line. The current generation Type R was the first to hit American shores (ok there was an Integra in the 90s), and there are already plans for the next car, but in the meantime, the Type R is getting some serious aftermarket attention. As part of the first-ever mixed reality virtual 2021 Honda Civic Tour, R&B singer-songwriter H.E.R. has revealed her custom Civic Type R, and it looks rather menacing.

The Honda Civic Tour has been going since 2001, and has reached more than 5 million fans in that time. The Civic tour of 2021 gave fans a special look at the all-new 2022 Honda Civic Sedan, and international stars such as Maroon 5, Demi Lovato, Blink-182, and Black Eyed Peas performed for thousands of Honda fans. Headliner H.E.R. also got the chance to design a custom Civic Type-R. This special R features a deep black matte finish color scheme, chameleon-tinted headlamps and windows, Nebula painted trim pieces and purple brake calipers. The interior also sees some special features such as nebula-painted accents, and special LED interior lighting that changes with the music.

H.E.R. 's special Civic Type-R remains stock under the hood, which means 306 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque from a 2.0-liter turbo-four. Power is sent to the front wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.

"One of the things that drew me toward the Honda Civic Tour was knowing that I'd be able to design my own vehicle, and out of all Civics, I picked the pinnacle Civic Type R," said H.E.R. "Infusing my personality into all aspects of my performances, and also expressing it through my favorite products, is something that I am passionate about. So being able to create and share my custom Honda Civic Type R with my fans is just so special to me."
