This Custom Toyota Supra Is The Perfect Paul Walker Tribute

Tuning / 7 Comments

Paul Walker would be proud.

When you think of Paul Walker, you probably think of him behind the wheel of the orange targa-topped Toyota Supra A80 in the 2001 movie The Fast and the Furious. This inspired his love of JDM cars, which led to him buying a 1995 Toyota Supra MKIV for his personal car collection.

Finished in white, Paul Walker's personal Supra made a cameo appearance at the end of Furious 7, where it was driven by a CGI version of Brian O'Conner alongside Dominic Toretto's Dodge Charger R/T. Now, Tom's Racing and Japanese magazine Safari have collaborated to create a unique A90 Toyota GR Supra that pays tribute to Paul Walker.

As a homage to the late actor's 1995 A80 Supra, the custom GR Supra is finished in matte white. At the back, the Japanese tuner has fitted a rear wing inspired by the A80 Supra in The Fast and the Furious. The custom Supra rides on BBS LM 20-inch wheels, just like Paul Walker's personal Supra.

The modifications aren't only cosmetic, either. Under the hood, Tom's Racing has boosted the Supra's 3.0-liter inline-six engine to 420 hp, up from 382 hp and 368 lb-ft in the stock sports car. This was achieved thanks to the tuner's bespoke Power Box.

To sharpen up the handling, the GR Supra is fitted with KW V3 adjustable coilover suspension. The interior has also been modified, but no photos have been released showing the customized cabin.

In Japan, the Paul Walker-tribute GR Supra will retail for 1,297,000 yen ($116,759) - a considerable premium over the regular GR Supra 3.0, which starts at $49,990. Only three examples are planned for production, which explains the high asking price. Applications to buy the special-edition GR Supra are open until October 31. If more than three people apply, a lottery will select the three lucky owners.
