There are probably a lot of ups and downs that come with being David Beckham's kid. On the one hand, there's crushing fame from the instant you leave the womb. More to the point, should you ever pick up a soccer ball, well, it's probably a lot like being Mick Schumacher. On the other hand, there are probably a lot of sweet perks. This is one of those sweet perks.

Apparently, Beckham's son, Brooklyn, is getting married. And Beckam's EV company, Lunaz, has unwrapped his wedding gift for him. This is it, a fully restored 1954 Jaguar XK140, a classic example of open-top, golden-age British design. There is a bit of a twist, however.

As you might have guessed, this car isn't powered by the XK140's original 3.4-liter, 190-horsepower straight-six. Instead, it's got a massive battery and some electric motors in it. Unfortunately, that's really all we have to share about the powertrain. We do know that a Lunaz-built Aston Martin DB6 had a battery with a range of around 255 miles and that another Lunaz-built Rolls-Royce packed 375 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, though we doubt this one is packing that kind of heat.

Apparently, Beckham took special care to keep the name for the car's paint on the hush. Lunaz says the paint's name is being kept confidential, likely due to some kind of personal information being in there somewhere. Perhaps it's his address? Odd name for a paint color.

Not that Brooklyn will be thinking about it given the work that went into the rest of the car. Lunaz totally refurbishes all the classic EV conversions they do, and this is no exception. Lunaz says the '54 Jag got totally new brakes, as well as updated steering and suspension. The EV brand says that like their other retro creations, this is built to be driven and enjoyed every day.

Details on the car's interior are about as scarce as the powertrain details but what is revealed is promising. The cream interior is fully restored and "upcycled" with classic gauges hiding info like the battery level. This means that the old design remains while new information is displayed.

It's hard to argue with the benefits of a car like this. You get classic styling that's prettier than any Jaguar F-Type on sale today, with range and power that could very easily eclipse a current Jaguar I-Pace. Lunaz may have given the surprise up before the gift was given, but we imagine that Beckham's son won't care all that much. The man is getting married, after all.
