Most of us realize that "stanced" cars with lowered suspension probably aren't the best choice for going off-road. Apparently this guy didn't get the memo before trying to photograph his Volkswagen Jetta at the beach on wet sand. Even so, that might have been a forgivable mistake if he weren't also attempting to do his photo set right next to a rising tide. This might not be the first time we've seen this sort of mistake, but this particular mishap is especially ironic given the environmental scandal the company is currently battling.

The irony runs even deeper when we consider the fact that the VW Group just hired the same law firm BP used after the Deepwater Horizon oil spill catastrophe back in 2010. The way it looks now, this Jetta went under just about as fast as VW might. That being said this guy should look on the bright side: At least a pack of hungry dogs didn't make a meal out of his car.
