Where to begin?
It's hard to know where to start with this one. We assumed that everyone - or least people that drove them - knew the Tesla Model 3, like all Teslas, is a pure battery-electric vehicle. Well, apparently not. This unnamed individual was recently filmed at a gas station while attempting to pump gasoline into a Model 3. Judging by its license plate, it appears to be owned by a dealership who neglected to mention the car's powertrain type to the guy in question.
But honestly, why would they? It's a Tesla! And yet he mistook the charging port for a gas cap, and it didn't end there.
Once he realized the "gas cap" option wasn't going to work, he hopped back in the car and popped its trunk. Could the gas cap be inside there? After figuring out that wouldn't work either, he walks around the car hoping to find the gas cap. When that didn't work out, he pops up open the frunk. Imagine his surprise. He spends a fair amount of wasted time looking around the frunk, all the while the people parked behind him are filming the entire thing. Their laughter and mockery are contagious.
But instead of the lightbulb going off in his head, the driver is still not making the connection. So he does what nearly everyone does these days when they need a question answered, he resorts to Google on his phone. His reaction is priceless.
Could this whole thing have been staged? Possibly, but we doubt it. If he knew he was being filmed, he'd probably at some point glance towards the camera. That didn't happen. Instead, he kept trying and failing. In all likelihood, our young driver here works for a dealership and was sent out to juice up the car as part of an initiation prank. If that is indeed the case, then props to the dealership. You got him good!
